The Mesmerizing Halloween Look You Can Create With Makeup

It happens every year. Halloween creeps up and your costume is non-existent. But this time, instead of panic-buying a cheesy costume in a bag, why not create a disguise that's all about the face? (Meaning: you legit don't have to buy a costume!) Mind. Blown. Makeup artist Mark Edio teaches the simple skills needed to paint the most gorgeous masquerade mask ever. The best part: The magic's already in your makeup bag.

Step 1: Wing It

After creating a clean canvas with foundation, use a vivid liquid liner like Maybelline Masterprecise Ink Metallic Liquid Eyeliner in Teal Galaxy to draw a dramatic wing from the inner corner to the outer corner of your eye. Exaggerate the flick towards the tail of the brow. Then apply a black gel eyeliner to the bottom water line. "This will really make the wing pop," says Edio. Swipe mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Step 2: Trace the Shape

Since creating the outline of the mask can be tricky, Edio suggests holding a makeup brush vertically along your nose to find the center of your face. Using a liquid liner like Maybelline Master Precise Ink Metallic Liquid Liner in Black Comet, place a dot in between, and above, your brows as a place to start. "The shape is up to you," says Edio. "The less perfect it is, the more artistic it will look," he says. So you don't make a mistake, Edio recommends working in short strokes, rather than continuous lines.

Step 3: Color Inside (and Outside) the lines

Edio added swirls, dots, and diamond shapes using various shades of Maybelline Master Precise Ink Metallic Liner including Solar Gold and Cosmic Purple. The formula is water-proof and long-wearing, so your mask won't budge until daybreak. You can even add sequins for extra bling.

Lewk Out!

You're about to slay those costumes in a bag like a Halloween kween!
