Allegedly Drunk Woman Learns Not to Put Her Hand in a Tiger's Cage the Hard Way

Jacqueline Eide, 33, was sent to an Omaha, Nebraska, hospital Sunday night after she allegedly drunkenly broke into the Henry Doorly Zoo tiger exhibit to pet a tiger and almost got her hand torn off, KETV reports.

Eide's injuries are reportedly severe — she might lose parts of her fingers. The Omaha Police Department wrote in a (rather sassy) Facebook post that Eide "showed signs of intoxication" when she made the unauthorized entry to the tiger's area, though there has been no official confirmation that she was drunk at the time.

Omaha.com reports Eide has been arrested and convicted for DUIs three times before this incident. She's also been convicted of disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

According to a press release from the zoo, it was allegedly Mai, an 18-year-old Malayan tiger, who bit Eide. The zoo assured the public that safety is everyone's highest priority, and that new lighting and security cameras have been added near the exhibit. KETV reports Mai will not be quarantined while the incident is being investigated.

...Because it would totally make sense to quarantine the tiger for chilling in her tiger home and acting on her tiger instincts when someone came into her tiger house. Related: Maybe don't try to locate or pet wild animals when you're drunk.
