4 Ways You Can Avoid Queefing During Sex

First and foremost, queefing is totally normal and is definitely not farting out of your vagina. It's not even air coming from inside your body, it just means air from outside got into your vagina and is being pushed back out. Are you breathing more easily now because you know you have a normal human body? OK, cool! That said, if you'd like to decrease your chances of the, yeah, sometimes awkward situation of queefing and feeling weird about it, Cosmopolitan.com spoke with women who know the territory: porn actresses. Here's the lowdown on ways you can potentially limits your queefs.

1. Stick to positions that don't involve you being bent over or upside down. Casey Calvert says that queefing is often all about the position you're in. Missionary, spooning, and cowgirl are all pretty safe in terms of positions that are less likely to drive air into the vagina, while doggy-style and the pile driver are more likely to result in queefs.

2. Do it super. Super. Slowly. According to Mindi Mink, going slowly during sex not only makes her more sensitive but also doesn't allow as much air to get inside.

3. Have your guy grind rather than pump. Limiting the guy's motions to more of a grind rather than long in-and-out strokes can greatly reduce the chances of air getting into the vagina, which causes queefing, Chanel Preston reports.

4. Finger yourself in between sex positions. Preston also advises putting your fingers in your vagina either during intercourse (if penis and vaginal size permits) or as you change positions. This will let the air out more subtly before it can come out as a queef.
