See the Awkward Moment When Steve Harvey Announced the Wrong Miss Universe Winner on Live TV

The Miss Universe pageant suffered an embarrassing mixup on live television during Sunday's show. During the announcement of the winner, host Steve Harvey said the wrong woman's name as the winner.

 At the end of the pageant, it came down to three contestants: Miss USA Olivia Jordan, Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, and Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez. Harvey announced Jordan as the second runner-up. But instead of announcing Gutierrez as the first runner-up, he announced her as "Miss Universe." (Several outlets even reported her as the winner). 

Then, officials with the pageant quickly moved to correct what had happened. Harvey then had to correct himself on live TV. "I have to apologize," he said. "The first runner-up is Colombia." You can see Wurtzbach's stunned reaction  in a tweet from the official Miss Universe page.

My heart absolutely breaks for Gutierrez, who thought she had won something she worked so hard for. 

But she recovered like a total pro, hiding what had to be a mixture of shock and agony and she helped congratulate and crown Wurtzbach. 

Meanwhile, viewers absolutely savaged Harvey for his mistake on Twitter.

Congratulations nonetheless to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who is the new Miss Universe. It certainly isn't a ceremony anyone will forget anytime soon.
