Three Ways to Up Your Ponytail Game

You know that panic when you need to look polished don't have time to wash your hair? Well we got Senior Stylist Meghan Cox from Taylor Taylor London to show us three ways you can use clip-in hair extensions to rock a ponytail of cheerleading dreams. Now we really have no reason to wash our locks!

1. The High Pony

Step 1) Gather your hair loosely into a ponytail, pull out any pieces of hair you want loose at the front of your head and secure with a hair band at the top of your crown. This doesn't need to be neat, in fact messiness adds texture giving you a fuller pony. For an extra high pony, try tipping your head upside down and gathering your hair.

Step 2) Take your hair extensions and clip onto the edge of your ponytail, ensuring you keep one end clip open.

Step 3) Wrap the hair extension in a circle, around your ponytail and make sure you clip in the last section to secure.

Step 4) Take a section of hair from underneath and wrap it round the hair band to cover, secure with a kirby grip (aka bobby pin).

2. The Kim K Pony

Step 1) Section and straighten your hair (straight = sleek so take your time on this step).

Step 2) Using a bristle brush, smooth your hair into a low pony. This might take a few attempts to get rid of all the bumps. For extra sleekness, hairspray the front sections of your hair and continue to smooth down with the palm of your hands.

Step 3) When you are bump free, secure with a hair band and run your hair straighteners over your ponytail.

Step 4) Straighten your hair extensions and smooth with hairspray. Clip the extension onto the edge of your ponytail (remember to leave one end clip open) and wrap the extension in a circle around your ponytail. Secure by clipping in the opened clip.

3. The 90s Pony

Step 1) Section your hair around the crown and pull into a topknot.

Step 2) Backcomb this section of hair and clip in your hair extensions. Back combing this area will ensure your extensions stay firmly attached to your head!

Step 3) Undo your top knot, picking out any loose pieces of hair you want to frame the face.

Step 4) Gather the top section of hair into a high ponytail and secure with a hair band. Taking a small section of hair from underneath, wrap this around the hair band and secure with a kirby grip to cover the band.

Step 5) Loosely wave hair with a tong or straighteners to blend your real hair with the extensions.
