1.  ​"Once, while studying abroad, I hooked up with this British business man and stayed over at his hotel. As we were taking the elevator downstairs, it stopped on a floor and I looked and it was my professor, who had traveled with us and was apparently staying at the same hotel. He looked at me and asked, 'What are you doing here?' As I was dressed in a club dress and heels at 9 a.m., it was apparent that I was about to embark on a walk of shame. I mumbled something about meeting a friend and the elevator door closed. So mortified!" —​​Lauren, 23

3. ​"While abroad in London, my school had given students a free card to join the student union and get involved with clubs at University College London. At the club fair, I was signing up for the yoga and meditation club and started talking to the vice president. He instantly asked if I was from [the U.S.] because of my American accent and asked for my number. He invited me to come to a rave that he hosts every Monday night... seriously these London kids go hard on school nights until 3 a.m. He said to bring along my [college] friends. He even reserved us our own table! Afterwords, he invited me on an ice skating date. He told me all about his dreams to move to New York. Then we started kissing in the mall nearby, but I wasn't totally in to it. When I was looking through his Facebook later that week, I found out he had dated another girl who had also studied abroad [from my college] in London. He even came and visited her in New York City! 4."I went to Barcelona for spring break with my friends and when we were there we took a day trip to the beach, of course! I saw this super hot guy running along the sand with his dog and was feeling confident so I ran up next to him. We talked for a few minutes and then I told him where I was staying because, why not! The next night he showed up at like 10 p.m. and I went with him to walk along the beach. We decided to be a little crazy and go in the water and we ended up having sex. When I got home that night I was sooo itchy from all the sand that floated into my underwear from the water!​"—​​​Jasmine, 24​

5. "When I was studying abroad in Israel, I was hooking up with this boy in the hotel room we were staying in for a part of the trip. We were getting pretty into it and we were both naked when two housekeepers walked in. The two women were very religious, both wearing full length burqas. 6. "After a semester of an insane amount of sexual tension, we finally boned in the bathroom on the plane ride back to the US. The flight attendant saw us go in and just smiled at us. 11. "I wanted to go to Germany with my friend but apparently there was a big snowstorm happening. We went anyway and went out on the first night. I met this really hot guy at the club and we decided to go back to the hostel where I was staying. On our way back we noticed that this one family had built a snow fort on their front lawn, so we did it in the fort, on the ground, in the snow. 12. ​"I was studying abroad in Paris and took a trip around France by myself one weekend. I went up to northern France, by the boarder of Italy, and stayed in this very adorable small town. I was at one of the bars in the area and met this very, very handsome Frenchman. He took my hand and showed me around the neighborhood and before I know it we were making out. We found a rock in this small park and started doing it on it. At one point cops came and were flashing their lights on us and yelled all of these things in French. Apparently we were hooking up on some ancient ruins that were property of the town and if we had stayed any longer, it would have fallen apart. Oops." —​Eliza, 22

One day he took me on a date to the London Eye, basically a big ferris wheel, and we were the only ones in our little pod. Although it is completely see through, he still wanted to do it! We started to take our clothes off, and immediately heard something over the speaker in the pod. Unless we stopped what we were doing, we would get arrested. 14. ​"I went to Greece and the only thing I could think about the whole time was Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I wanted what Lena and Kostas had so for a good chunk of the semester I checked out every single Greek boy I could find. By the end of the last week I had still not found my perfect man so I gave up and settled for a cute bartender that I had met a few times. Although he was no Kostas, he still let me recreate my fantasy of having sex in the water in the middle of the day just like in the movie. It was perfect." —​Natasha, 20
