Pokémon Go is Getting Turned Into a Movie, and Here's Who They Should Cast

Pokémon Go is officially moving from your phone screen to the big screen: According to Variety, Legendary Entertainment has won the rights to the "first live-action Pokémon film franchise," starting with a "Detective Pikachu" movie.

While there aren't a ton of details available on the project yet, the film is expected to begin production in 2017. It will also introduce the American audience to the character of Detective Pikachu, who I hope was inspired by that girl who found a dead body while playing Pokémon Go.

Given the lack of information so far, one can only imagine who they'll cast as the voices of all the characters. So, to help them out in their decisions, here are just a few suggestions that would guarantee an incredible film.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Detective Pikachu

Benedict already has a cult following for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, so what better way to challenge himself as an actor than to portray a very different detective, who will likely only be able to communicate with variations of the word "Pikachu"?

Ki Hong Lee as Ash

If you don't know his name yet, you better learn it — because this young actor is going to be everywhere soon. He absolutely killed it in The Maze Runner, and would be the perfect Ash to complement Benedict's Detective Pikachu.

Channing Tatum as Brock

Few actors are as delightfully funny as Channing Tatum, and he would definitely bring a certain je ne sais quoi to the stoic role of Brock.

Amandla Stenberg as Misty

As Rue in The Hunger Games, Amandla proved to the world that she knows how to rough it in the wilderness and can totally hold her own with the big boys. She would be a flawless Misty and totally at home with her Pokémon friends.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as Team Rocket

Real life besties Tina and Amy would absolutely slay as the not-so-successful but very evil Team Rocket. Just imagining their cackles makes my heart swell in size.

Aziz Ansari as Meowth

The role of Meowth needs to be played by a very versatile and sassy comedian, and I can't imagine anyone better than Aziz for the role.

Taylor Swift and her friends as the Squirtle Squad

Bringing #SquadGoals to the next level.
