A Man Divorced His Wife After 2 Hours Because She Snapchatted Their Wedding Day

When two people get married, you'd probably expect that they know quite a lot about each other - favourite foods, birthdays, that kind of thing.

But clearly, a certain groom in Saudi Arabia didn't check on his future wife's social media interests before their big day, because he decided to divorce his wife just two hours after their wedding… and it's all Snapchat's fault. Damn it, Snapchat.

While weddings are typically a place where a lot of nice pictures are taken and the occasion is generally, you know, quite nice, this unnamed man drew up a prenuptial agreement that banned him and his wife-to-be from using social media during the ceremony.

Sadly, the need to snap was just too high for the Saudi bride, and after she apparently shared pictures on the app, the marriage was over.

It is unconfirmed if those images also included a hilarious use of the bee filter.

The bride's brother told Okaz: "There was a prenuptial agreement between my sister and her fiancé that she would not use social media applications such as Snapchat, Instagram or Twitter to post or send her pictures.

"It was included in the marriage contract and became binding. Regretfully, my sister did not honour the pledge and used Snapchat to share pictures from the wedding ceremony with her female friends, resulting in the shocking decision by the groom to cancel their marriage and call for divorce."

It's said that the bride's family are pretty upset by this turn of events, but to be honest we reckon this girl's had a lucky escape.

Seriously, what's even the point of getting married if you can't be all smug about it on social media?
