There's a New Feature on Facebook Messenger And You're Gonna Love It

What's been missing from Facebook all this time? Well, not FarmVille invitations from a bunch of people you haven't seen since year 9, that's for sure…

No, we're talking about group calling. Since learning that we can make phone calls on Facebook Messenger, all we've been thinking is, "Wouldn't it be grand to be able to speak to Regina, Gretchen and Karen at the same time?" And yes, in our head whenever we daydream about being in Mean Girls, we're always Cady.

Well let's stop thinking and start doing because as of today group calling has officially been launched as a feature of Facebook!

Very important man from Facebook HQ, David Marcus, revealed the exciting news on Facebook. Obviously.

Alongside a picture of a bunch of people living it up group calling each other, the head of Messenger wrote: "Really excited to announce the global roll out of group calling in Messenger today. From any group conversations, just tap on the phone icon to initiate a group call. You can then manage individual participants on the next screen.

"If you have the latest version of Messenger, you should see the phone icon appear in group conversations within the next 24 hours. Give it a try, and as always, let us know how we can make it even better for you!"

The feature apparently works in the exact same way as voice calls on Messenger, with just one extra step: after tapping the phone icon, the caller can select who from the group to include in the call.

Wait a minute… is this just another way to make things awkward? What if everyone gets selected except us?
