When Joe Isidori launched Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer about a year ago, he set out to take diner nostalgia to the next level. No item on the menu captures that better than The Cookie Milkshake, a twist on cookies and cream that features gobs of vanilla frosting, ribbons of chocolate syrup and an entire chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich.

"As a kid, I grew up in the neighborhoods of New York City, in Brooklyn and Queens, and you'd go to the luncheonette to get a cheeseburger deluxe—a burger with extra American cheese—which always had a milkshake with it. I wanted to recreate that here," Isidori says.

People have gone so crazy for the milkshakes that the restaurant has a perpetual 2-hour-long line outside, and Isidori had to downsize the seating from 20 to 15 to make way for an expanded milkshake and cooking stations. The craziest part, though, is the amount of bribes he and his team have been offered since the first image of the Cotton Candy shake went viral.

"Everybody knows somebody and sings a song or offers to pay to cut the line," he says. "They all have milkshake fever."

Milkshake fever, huh? It seems the only cure is ... more milkshake. If you can't get enough either, you've got to see how the rest of Black Tap's shakes are made:
