This year's Met Gala theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between. While some celebrities blowed us away with their outfits that totally matched the theme, some tried to play it safe by wearing simple slip dresses and fish-tail gowns.

One of the celebs who nailed the theme was Rihanna. She chose a bright, colorful and voluminous Comme des Garçons ~look~ straight off the fall 2016 runway.

Rihanna completely owned the Met Gala red carpet and received fab reviews for her choice of outfit.

Deepika Padukone, who played it safe according to fashion critics, looked amazing in her Tommy Hilfiger gown. But, that didn't stop the Internet to make memes about it!
