Fans Reveal What It's Like to Meet Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Person

It's always exciting to meet your favourite celebrity. Some wait hours outside their house, just to catch a glimpse of them, while some are lucky enough to get a selfie and, maybe even an autograph. Either ways, die-hard fans are willing to do anything to meet their celebrity role-models.

But not all go back with great memories, some have faced the wrath of Bollywood celebs. But you can't blame them, guess the press and all the fandom, can get a bit too hectic at times. However, some celebs take out a lot of time for their fans.

People on Quora, spoke about what it was like to meet one such global icon, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She's one of the biggest stars in Bollywood, and people can't stop fan-girling over her. Some of their dreams came true, and they met her in person. And this is what they had to say:

This girl who missed her lunch to see her:

"This would be probably one of the best days of my life!! :)

I used to work at a visa centre in Mumbai, and being a enthusiastic newbie, I was always asking all the security, and housekeeping people if some celeb is coming today. I used to have a sales counter at the exit door, near the premium lounge, so when some celeb did come, we were the first to see them.

One day all the security people, were gearing up for something. It was all hush hush, tight security. When I asked, someone told me that Aishwarya Rai is visiting the office. My heart skipped a beat on hearing that. Firstly, I thought someone was fooling me, but she really was coming that day. I was like super excited. I was going to see the actress I had a female crush on for real. Wow!!

I was bit of nervous to see my favourite actress. I even delayed my lunch, fearing I will miss the only chance to see her. And then she arrived. I was mesmerised by her beauty, light makeup, untied hair, and a beautiful smile. She was carrying Aaradhya in her arms. She was all slim and fit (no post pregnancy fat). She was not wearing any fancy clothes, but still was looking absolutely gorgeous in her jeans and top. She glanced at us for a second, and then hurried away to the premium lounge. That's it! Only a few seconds I saw her, but that was the best thing that happened to me, while working there."

This one, who was amazed by Aishwarya's politeness:

"I have been in the entertainment business for a long time and was one of the first to interview Aishwarya Rai, when she was a model back in 1993. That was when I was also somewhat a newbie in the entertainment business. She was already a successful model, and was very polite, and answered every question with a smile and sincerity. She was preparing for the Miss India Pageant then, and my company wanted to make her as the cover girl for our magazine/ad, along with an interview. She would always say that she would give an interview when there is something substantial to talk about, rather than repeat the same things over and over. I had arranged a meeting with her for an interview, and was about to meet her at her place for the same. Just before I started from my place, I got a call. It went something like this:

"Hello..is this XXXXX"

"Yes"

"Hi, this is Aishwarya here, I am sorry to inform you that an important thing came up today, and I won't be able to do the interview today. Can we do it some other time? I am sure you can understand this situation."

"Yes sure, we can"

A normal person may feel what is so special about this, but Aishwarya was a big name even back then, and I was just an interviewer. She could have just said 'No, I am busy', when I reached her place, and I would have wasted my time, and money in travelling, and couldn't have done anything about it. But she felt it was important to call, and apologise which felt so special. Later, I interviewed her and it came in our magazine. And I was extremely happy that Ash is still the same person with lots of positivity and care."

This one, who stood for 9 hours behind her, holding an umbrella:

"I met Aishwarya Rai during the shooting of Ravan, at 11am in the morning. I travelled for 22 hours just to meet her. She was surrounded by her servants, and bodyguards. I went to her and told her that I'm a die-hard fan of her. She didn't say anything. She just gave me a beautiful smile. I asked for an autograph, but she refused saying, she can't give autographs during shoots, and told me to wait till the evening. I told Aishwarya that I wanted to hold the umbrella for her until the evening, as I didn't have anything else to do. Initially she refused by saying, that she already had people to do that. But, finally she agreed. I held the umbrella for Aishwarya for the whole day. That was the proudest day of my life! The shooting was over at 8pm. And she finally, game me an autograph!! :) I was amazed by her commitment to work. I stood behind Aishwarya Rai for 9 hours holding an umbrella."

This guy, who was very impressed with her media-handling skills:

"I wouldn't know about meeting her per se, because it happened at a press conference (Jodha Akbar). She knows she's pretty and is also very articulate. Given the setting and an unsettling paparazzi, I thought she handled the questions with absolute grace and sophistication. That said, most celebrities tend to keep their natural side under wraps, when meeting journalists. At the end of the day, she is a human and got flustered when members of the media badgered her about her relationship status (Salman Khan fiasco). One on one, I've heard she's comfortable, forthcoming but very diplomatic. Again, these interactions have been skewed since they were handled by journalists."
