From the legendary Sarod player, Amjad Ali Khan to ace Indian designers- Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl, Ridhima Kapoor Sahni, Anamika Khanna, Krishna Mehta, Amit Aggarwal and Manav Gangwani, everyone wants to make Bieber feel more than welcomed in the country.
Amjad Ali Khan is giving Bieber an autographed Sarod which Bieber can lay his hands on. Bieber's being a left-handed Guitarist, will receive a customized left-handed Sarod. How thoughtful!
Adding to the excitement of his arrival, celebs have gone on record to say the sweetest things about him. Amjad Ali Khan said, "He's a role model for the millennial generation and it's so wonderful to see the love that he has generated. Since it's his first visit, it's a welcoming gesture as an Indian artiste."
Rohit Bal is giving Bieber a biker jacket that will be studded with 10,000 Swarovski crystals. Talking about his present, the designer revealed that the jacket is finely embroidered and handcrafted with over 10,000 crystals from Swarovski on luxurious velvet. Not just that, it'll flaunt his signature lotus motif too!
Varul Bahl has especially designed musical instruments for Bieber which are ornated with fine silk, printed with floral artworks and highlighted with metallic gold. Bahl mentions in an interview, "The Sitar and Tabla reflect the core of Indian traditional music, embracing the dynamic culture we hail from. Adorned in Bahl's signature floral motifs and intricate embroideries, the instruments symbolise the inter-culture amalgamation of our cosmos."
Ridhima Kapoor Sahni will be gifting a bespoke wreath shaped necklace embellished in ornate rubies and marquise diamonds encrusted in platinum and gold to Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette.
Anamika Aggarwal has designed an entire wardrobe for Bieber's mother using Indian classical fabrics and cuts.
Amit Aggarwal has designed a khadi jacket with metallic fittings. He says that this jacket 'is a marriage between vintage and modern, the charm of the old and the new world.'
Krishna Mehta has created an Indo-western formal shirt with modern, geometric lines with metallic threads. She said that, "We have taken a step back from our typically bright colour palette in this particular piece. We wanted to achieve a fierce look, much like the super star himself, and his work — a homage to the singer's character and stage persona."
Manav Gangwani has curated sneakers and caps for the 23-year-old pop star. He said, "Most foreign artistes love peacock feathers and snake symbols in their outfits when they come to India and hence, I created this on the accessories."
The list goes on as young designer Prasenjit Das has designed a special hand painted denim jacket with graffiti designs, Dhruv Kapoor has come up with an oversized hoodie and Ragini Ahuja has created a bomber jacket.
