6 'Fattening' Foods That Are Actually Good For You

Considering how the whole world is going Gaga about weight loss and fitness these days, one would think that we have got our diets and food facts all figured out. We continue to be ill-informed about the nutrients in the foods we eat, following 'salad and grilled chicken' diets as we always have.

To have a healthy body, good skin and a healthy system, it's also important to eat the right foods. Here are six foods that are otherwise considered fattening and unhealthy but when eaten right can actually do you tons of good.

1.Bananas

Bananas have a bad rep for being fattening and carb filled. These fab fruits can in fact improve your mood, clear acne, make your hair shiny and cool your stomach. Eat them in the morning or on an empty stomach and they will not make you gain weight.

2.Red Wine

Wine is full of antioxidants, making your skin glow , shiny and smooth. It is also good for the heart, so a glass or two with dinner can do you no harm.

3.Potatoes

Every diet Guru raves about potatoes. Not many, praise the humble, potato spud. Full of Vitamin C and B.

4.Chocolate

Dark chocolate is good for the heart and packed with antioxidants. It is also great for the skin and low on fat, as compared to it's milky, sugary counterparts. So eating it as a snack seems totally guilt free.

5.Oil

Many oils like coconut and mustard are sources of very healthy fatty acids, which prevent heart disease, control cholesterol and keep skin moisturised and glowing. It is the kind of oil and cooking technique that makes you gain weight, not the oil itself.

6.Egg Yolks

Eating egg white has become a trend, with the world collectively shunning egg yolks as they eat processed food without guilt. In reality, Egg yolk is full of Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin A and E. Many more along with Phosphorous and Zinc, so you might want to think twice before you throw it in the bin.
