The SHOCKING Reason Why Bipasha Basu and John Abraham Broke Up

They both started their careers in Bollywood from scratch, and were insanely proud of each other for the same. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu dated for what seemed like eternity in the glittery world of Bollywood, and broke headlines when they decided to part ways after a decade!

Contrary to their contemporaries, they were always open about their relationship status from the start, and would flood fans with #RelationshipGoals, with every couple appearance of theirs—be it red carpet, off-duty or in the movies.

In the second season of KWK, the couple made an appearance, with a chemistry that sizzled through the screen— right till your very bones!

Cut to today, when Bipasha is happily married to Karan Singh Grover and John found love in a person (Priya Runchal) hailing from a non-celebrity background.

Initially, for a long time after their split the couple chose to observe silence whenever they were quizzed about their breakup and how they're dealing with the whole ordeal. They would avoid the questions, and everyone was left wondering why this meant-to-be duo split up.

However, recently Bipasha Basu opened up on her side of the story in an interview, and talked about how she dealt with John's absence in her life.

"No. It was definitely not amicable. No break-up is ever amicable. Otherwise, no one would break up. There are always reasons. Otherwise, there won't be any break-ups," she said.

Not only that, she subtly let it out that the breakup was clearly not a mutual decision, and she was the one who had her heart shattered in pieces after their relationship died a painful death. Bipasha confessed—"I felt abandoned. I was living in a *la la land* till then. Now sitting today I feel I was so foolish. During those nine years, I retracted from my work, pushed back opportunities, stood like a rock for the man I loved, did not meet people just to give that extra time to make my relationship work and then I realised that the thing I was working so hard for was gone overnight. It took me months to realise that it's over and I am abandoned. I went through a lot of pain. I used to howl, went into isolation, it hurt."

We see celebs who don't even look at each other post a break-up, and then there are those who are still friends and each others' biggest fans, à la Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. When asked if she would ever want to be friends with her ex, Bipasha's response is as pointed as it could have been.

"See if your ex is an assh*le it's not possible. But if your ex is a good human being and things didn't gel well between you then, of course, it's possible, but it depends." Considering her friendly equation with her exes Dino Morea and Harman Baweja, one might wonder who this particular remark is pointed to. Or would they?
