She's renowned as well as revered, as the 'most beautiful' woman in the world, and sometimes we feel even that title doesn't give her beauty enough justice.
1994 Miss World winner, and a mesmerising hazel-eyed beauty—Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has won hearts all over the country ever since she ventured into modelling and into acting thereon. As if that wasn't enough to have everyone fangirl-ing over her, she was one of the first female actors to step foot into International waters with her acting prowess with movies like Bride And Prejudice,The Mistress Of Spices and The Pink Panther 2.
To add to her list of impressive accolades, Aishwarya recently became the first woman to hoist the Indian flag at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), as a part of their commemoration of the 70th year of Indian Independence.
Overwhelmed and brimming with emotions, Aishwarya gave a candid interview to a leading channel about her journey in the film industry, and her thoughts on why she steered clear of carving a full-blown career in Hollywood after her success there.
Accompanied with little darling Aaradhya by her side, when Aishwarya was asked about why she couldn't leave Bollywood behind, she said—
"I enjoy Indian cinema, I have had such wonderful directors to work with—I couldn't get myself to do that. Mostly because it is just a different rhythm—I know I can imagine some of our talent working there and experiencing it, it is rather exciting!"
She went on to explain how times have evolved now, and why it is easier and more fulfilling for actors today, to mark milestones in Hollywood.
"It is wonderful to be part of cinema—irrespective of which language or part of the world it is getting made in. It is just a different rhythm with which we worked in India and overseas... at that time social media was still beginning."
In the end, Aishwarya has always been someone who has never given in to any pressure but followed her heart, keeping comfort as her top priority—be it with her sartorial sense, or filmography.
"Today, world is socially smaller—you feel more connected and the pace of life is getting faster than not so long ago. I guess each one will go with what suits them. I too had many 'yes and no's' in my list of 'dos and don'ts'. So it narrowed down my choices and that's just the way I felt I would be comfortable."
We're sure she has been an inspiration to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, thou.
