You Won't Believe Which Shah Rukh Khan Movie is The Most Pirated Film of 2017

Piracy is like a disease that affects the growth of entire film industry. Film creation is a long and expensive procedure. Unfortunately, when the actual time to reap reward comes, piracy acts like a leech and substantially reduces the movie's collection. The illegal downloads and sharing of movie files on the internet burns a huge hole in the pocket of movie makers.

A list of top 10 pirated films of 2017 was released by a German-based firm TECXIPIO GmbH. According to that list, Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan starrer Raees was the most pirated films of 2017.

The director of movie Raees, Rahul Dholakia was baffled by the report. He posted this through his official Twitter account:

The report also included the number of times files were shared. Here's the list of top 10 pirated films of 2017, according to TECXIPIO GmbH:

Raees (6,187,379)

Kaabil (5,263,526)

Jolly LLB (4,435,585)

A leading tabloid reported that India accounts for 60 per cent of total file sharers of pirated movies online through peer to peer networks, and another 16 per cent via Pakistan, amounting to an estimated loss of Rs 18,000 crore for the Hindi film industry in 2016 alone.
