4 Actors Who Were Recommended For A Role By Their Peers

All it takes is that one movie to make or break a career in Bollywood. An industry where there is fierce competition and actors constantly get pitted against each other, one would think it would be all about hate and envy. But then, there are instances like these where an actor recommends another actor for a vital role in a movie and we realize that film fraternity is actually one big family.

1. Aditi Rao Hydari and Jaya Bachchan

Aditi must be on cloud nine RN for the kind of response and appreciation her work in the movie, Padmaavat is receiving. It obviously is her talent and hard work that she was able to bring the character of Mehrunissa to life with such beauty and grace. But, there is someone else who helped Aditi bag this meaty role. It was none other than Jaya Bachchan. In an interview to a leading daily Aditi said, "It felt so amazing that she had suggested my name to him. I have never had that kind of support or backing in the industry. So, when people who I love and respect so much stand up for me, or encourage and appreciate me, it means a lot".

On being asked the reason why Jaya Bachchan suggested her name, Aditi replied, "When you get a blessing you don't ask questions. She did mention (the reason) why to Sanjay sir, but I read somewhere that she said there is some purity in my eyes and 'noor' on my face."

2. Jim Sarbh and Ranveer Singh

These two actors have set the silver screen on fire with their own kind of chemistry. The movie Padmaavat has a lot of high points but, Ranveer and Jim's chemistry indisputably makes it to the top of this list. The fans loved the interaction between these two characters. But, what many are not aware of is that it was Ranveer who suggested Jim for this role. In a interview with a tabloid Ranveer said, "People are talking so much about mine and Jim's parts. It is so heartening to see that. Jim was one of the most enriching co-actor experiences I ever had. You must know this, casting Jim was my idea. I had seen Neerja and was blown away by his performance. I told Sanjay Sir to please try him out for the role of Kafur. Just after his first audition he got cast. I am too thrilled about the appreciation he is getting. We know well how much he has contributed towards the film."

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had won over the world with her beauty, charm and intelligence. But her career in Bollywood took off only after Salman Khan reportedly recommended her name to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the movie, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. And the rest is history!
