Did you feel a great disturbance in the world today? Like someone had ripped through your chest, pulled your soul out and set it on fire? Well that's basically what happened because I am sorry to report One Direction is taking an extended hiatus, according to People.
Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson are reportedly taking a long break from one another starting in March of next year. It was a mutual decision from all four members, although so far none of them have directly commented on the reported split.
The news comes just a few days after the band released the video for their new single "Drag Me Down," which is already a certifiable hit. So why take a break now? According to People the group has been looking to pursue solo projects, which is what reportedly led former member Zayn Malik to depart the band earlier this year. The good news is the band reportedly plans to work together again in the future, THANK GOODNESS. So, much like Ross and Rachel, they will be "on a break" not "breaking up."
This has just been the crummiest year to be a Directioner. Honestly, ever since I heard the news, I've been rocking back and forth in my chair, whimpering this is not happening this is not happening this is not happening over and over again, hoping that when I open my laptop again this whole "temporary breakup" thing will have just been a bad dream.
