Lorde Looks Totally Different With Her New Straight Hairdo

I'm a big fan of Lorde's big, curly hair, but I was also very taken with the smooth 'do she showcased at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. Check it out:

At first I barely recognized the 18-year-old whose new straight hair made her look uber sophisticated.

Also seemingly shorter and darker in tone, her locks beautifully reflected the light slicked into this gloss-wet style. It's how to nail the handsome hair trend, if ever I saw an example.

While I imagine the singer's just experimenting with the texture and hasn't had a permanent straightening treatment, it's a chic addition to her style files.

What next … a bob or bangs? I'll keep you posted.
