8 Adult Things You Can Do at Disneyland

If anyone ever tells us that Disneyland is just for children, we laugh in their faces and begin listing all of the reasons why they are wrong (and probably boring).

Because, let's face it, watching your favourite Disney characters in the Main Street parade and skipping through the perfect streets to that repetitive, yet oh-so lovable, tune never gets old.

But if you really have grown-up too much to appreciate waffles in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears (seriously, who ARE you?), then there are lots of other actual adult reasons to love the place, too.

Here they are…

Number one: the nightlife

Thankfully, Disneyland understands the importance of adult time, which makes for an even more enjoyable experience come the end of the day, when all you want to do is sit back and unwind.

You'll find us at the New York City Bar – a smart place mirrored on a Manhattan night-spot serving all the mouth-watering cocktails your heart desires.

Number two: the thrills

If you went to Disneyland as a child, chances are there were quite a few rides you weren't allow to go on because they were meant for adults only. So, when you go back all grown up, make a beeline for these bigger and more thrilling rides. Us? We have serious feels for Star Tours.

Number three: Space Mountain

If you like the idea of high-speed roller coasters, loop-the-loops and whizzing through the ether on a spaceship, then you NEED to get over to Space Mountain and stay there until you literally have no voice left. It may only take one try…

Adrenaline junkies will also love Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Aerosmith's Rock n Rollercoaster - a whole heap of fun in one go, (or two, or three, or four…).

Number four: the shopping

And not just for those light-up ears and Disney Princess fancy dresses (although they're great, too) - La Vallee Village Outlet pretty much will fulfill the shopping dreams of your adult life.

We're talking designer brands: Armani, Missoni, Marni – all at cut-prices and in one easy-to-shop place.

Number five: the spa

Celestia at Disney (yes, Disneyland has a spa) is a really special place, offering you the treatments and relaxation you need to work off that running-around-a-theme-park-all-day ache. Bliss.

For couples, the two-hour treatment package for two is a really romantic break from the hustle and bustle.

Number six: the food

While we personally don't understand what you have against potato bites shaped as Mickey Mouse ears, we DO understand that nothing quite beats a slap-up meal after a long day out.

Head to Disneyland's Manhattan restaurant for that exact situation, with New York-inspired eats to seriously sate your appetite. Not only is this restaurant kitted out with all the facilities you might need, but the food is of a seriously tasty standard and the service, fantastic.

Number seven: Disney Dreams

You're never too old for fireworks - and Disney Dreams is so much more than just a few whizzes and bangs. This incredible light show production tells a wonderful story to a magical sound track and looks like nothing you've ever seen before. One not to miss.

Number eight: the activities

If you're the kind of person that likes to work out on your holidays, then you're in luck - Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Hotel New York and Disney's Sequoia Lodge, for instance, all have swimming pools and state-of-the-art facilities for work-out bunnies in need.

Plus, if golf is your game, there are three 9-hole courses for your playing pleasure.
