Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach Isn't Down With Sharing Her Crown

Newly crowned Miss Universe Pia Alonso Wurtzbach has had two weeks to come up with her public answers for how she feels about that whole "oops, wrong winner" fiasco and she was poised and queen-like as ever for her "first ever sit-down interview as Miss Universe," which happened on Good Morning America today.

For her brief chat with GMA co-anchor Lara Spencer, Wurtzbach wore her shiny crown and sash over a red bodycon dress. When asked if she'd be into the idea of sharing the Miss Universe title with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez, Wurtzbach — as graciously as possible — said the pageant equivalent of "hell no."

"I think it would be a little bit difficult for two girls to share a crown," she said, clearly having thought out the logistics of this more than Donald Trump or Gutiérrez herself have, "but I have high hopes that this will give great opportunities for me and Miss Colombia and the rest of the contestants."

Wurtzbach also said that she's communicated with Gutiérrez since the competition ended. "I was able to ask how she's doing and she seems like she's OK," Wurtzbach said. "I understand how she feels. I'm also concerned with her. I know that she's a beautiful young lady [who's] very talented and I think that she'll have a lot of other opportunities. She'll do very well, I'm sure."

And that is the pageant equivalent of playing someone gently off the stage.
