25-year-old Model Commits Suicide, Husband Arrested for Alleged Abuse

25-year-old model, Priyanka Kapoor allegedly committed suicide and was found dead, hung from a ceiling fan in her Delhi apartment yesterday. Priyanka's family has blamed her husband, Nitin Chawla, 37, for her death. Nitin has also been accused of abusing Priyanka and took a huge amount of dowry from her family. Police have reported that a 2 page suicide note was found, which stated she was scared of her husband. Part of the note read: "This is the biggest mistake of my life...marrying him... I am scared". A case has been filed against Chawla and he has been arrested and placed in judicial custody.

1) Talk to someone: Do not hold your feelings inside of you. Open up to someone you trust and be honest about what you are dealing with internally.

2) Call the police: Report the abuse to the higher authorities right away if you or someone you know is in danger.

3) Join support groups: Discussing your feelings with people who have been in the same position as you, as it can be very therapeutic and help you cope faster.
