Salman Khan being appointed goodwill ambassador of the Indian team for Rio Olympics 2016 hasn't been digested quite as well as he may have hoped. Amidst the outrage the announcement has spurred (and, alternatively, tonnes of support as well), there's been one particular show of disdain that has the internet going nuts.
Change.org currently has a petition on there that trying to get people on board with having Salman ousted from the position of goodwill ambassador...a petition started by one Aishwarya Rai!
Okay, okay. We were pretty taken aback, too—but it's a case of coincidence. It's just AN Aishwarya Rai. Not Aishwarya Rai Bachchan herself. The petition, called 'Ban Salman Khan from being Good Will Ambassador 2016 Rio Olympics' and goes on to outline all the reasons Salman Khan is 'unworthy' of this honour.
Here is a screenshot from the actual petition:
The petition currently has 401 supporters (and counting).
The ACTUAL Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) is in full support of Salman Khan, and apparently told the media "Anybody who is doing good to represent the country and anybody who is working or seeking or standing out for whatever vocation we have in the country be it sports, arts or music, I think that's wonderful and needs to be recognised."
Vague, but we feel you, girl.
