Having acne can be such a frustrating experience. But if you're feeling self-conscious about your skin, there's a way to even it out in just a few minutes. Beauty expert Em Ford of the YouTube channel My Pale Skin has created the perfect tutorial for anybody who wants to get an all-over smooth canvas for date night, a special event, or any other occasion.

1. Apply foundation all over the face.

Ford goes with a liquid foundation for her base, working it in and building it up with a foundation brush. "You don't want to go too hard at the beginning," she advises. "Just take it slow." Reminder: Don't forget your neck! That's one beauty blunder you should always avoid.

2. Brighten up under the eyes with a yellow-based concealer.

And after using it under the eyes, Ford also dots it onto acne spots.

3. Pat it in.

Even out the concealer by gently patting it in so you can get rid of harsh lines without removing it or blending so much that it's no longer effective.

4. Use a second concealer on each spot.

Layering keeps those bright red blemishes well-hid, so Ford applies a second liquid concealer to her blemishes, then blends it.

5. Add a creamy concealer to under eye circles.

Those dark circles don't stand a chance when a little light concealer is applied under the eyes.

6. Set the makeup.

Using a dense fluffy brush, apply a colorless face powder to set the makeup all day long.

Now that her skin is perfectly even, Ford uses contouring techniques, eye makeup, and a little lip gloss to finish off her look.

The transformation is impressive:

And Ford's skin looks so clear.
