The Reason This New Dad Got Shamed By a Stranger Will Make You Cringe

New father Damien Leeson was out shopping with his wife and daughter in Queensland, Australia when the seven-week-old needed a diaper change.

While he was in the parents' room changing the baby, a woman walked in with her son.

"She looked at me and started laying into me saying that it was 'disgusting to see a fully-grown man in a parents' room with a little girl," Damien told Daily Mail Australia.

Wait, what? Last time we checked, parents were supposed to take care of their own children.

Damien told his wife about what had happened, and she was equally shocked.

"How can someone say that to someone who is just looking after their kid?" he said.

Many dads have spoken up recently about the importance of equal parenting, and Damien feels the same way. Because, hello—it's 2017.

"I'm quite a hands-on father, whatever I can do to help my wife, I will," he told the newspaper. "My point is it's a parents' room, not a mothers' room. There are no change tables in the male bathroom."

Preach. Keep changing those diapers, Damien—you're doing it right.
