Lakme Fashion Week's not far off and you know what we love the most about it? (Apart from the fact that we can wear couture #AllDayEveryDay), every year we look forward to their latest bunch of the hottest ramp-ready designers.
The Gen Next platform's been the launchpad for many of the biggies in the Indian fashion industry. From designers like Rahul Mishra to Nachiket Barve and Masaba Gupta, Kalloll Dutta, tonnes of fab designers have risen to fame from this category. Here are the seven stars that make the 20th batch of Gen Next designers for LFW Winter Festive 2015:
#1 Ajay Kumar
Bangalore based Ajay Kumar's genre is the 'social' male celeb. All-over geometric patterns (birds, beasts and more), his outfits are exactly what you'd define as modern-meets-Indian.
#2 Charchit Bafna
Ever wondered what a tropical winter would look like on a jacket or a shirt? Well, now you'll know. Disheveled and manicured all at once, this Delhi based designer's collection is real flirty.
#3 Kriti Tula
The coolest thing about Kriti Tula's 'Doodlage' is that it up-cycles industry waste to great taste; and she's revamping everything from the basic white shirt to the oversized scarf.
#4 Jebin Johnny
A seriously cool mix of the Kathakali from India and the Kabuki dance-drama of Japan, this Cochin based fusion label is one to watch out for.
#5 Ishita Mangal
Crime inspired 'Misprision of Treason' has everything you'd imagine every fashionable detective, police officer and their accomplices wearing. Plus, dramatic slogans and silhouettes? We're in.
#6 Shivangi Sahni
Boho chic? Check. This sharp tailoring paired with an amazing free-spirited vibe is totally fashion-editorial-ready.
#7 Siddhartha Bansal
This storyteller takes us on a colourful roller coaster ride through India. Every kaleidoscope-crazy-kid definitely needs to check this out.
