10 Things Only a Top Model Can Tell You

If we had to describe this unconventional beauty in 50 words flat, here's what we'd say (pretty much)... The leggy 26-year-old has a degree is Business Management; has modeled for top designers in the last five years; is irrevocably in love with high fashion and refuses to consider a career in Bollywood ("It's fun but I don't relate to it"); oh, and she's sharing her top secret tips on stuff that Cosmo girls care about!

1. HAVING A FLAT TUMMY

"You might hate the idea, but you just have to work out. There's no escaping it! Yes, great abs may have a little to do with good genes, but most of it is plain exercise (even if you're a model). Personally, I like working out. I do three sets of 50 crunches every third day, and leg raises to tone my stomach. Also my diet has more fiber than carbs and I pick green, leafy stuff over oily food. And don't forget the green tea! Lots of green tea."

2. ROCKING COOL OFF-DUTY STYLE

"You've got to experiment with clothes. I've done a lot of that. Right now, my style leans towards a more androgynous vibe. I love shirts, blazers and jeans, and on the flip side, I also like maxis (dresses and skirts!) A rule that really works for me is accessorising with statement pieces like a bag or earrings. I usually wear flats, but I like wearing heels too-they do great things for your posture!"

3. DEALING WITH COMPETITION

"By being the best (laughs)! There's a lot of competition in my profession. I'm super sincere towards my work-I'm never late, people really respect that. You have to keep learning on the job, that'll help you keep an edge above your competitors."

4. BOUNCING BACK FROM REJECTION

"I try to divert my mind from the subject and choose not to think about the rejection. You can't afford to waste too much time feeling sorry for yourself. Staying positive and accepting the situation is the best way to deal with it."

5. LIVING OUT OF A SUITCASE

"I travel a lot for work, so I've become a bit of an expert at packing sensibly. I make it a point to carry the right mix of casual and comfortable, but hot outfits in my bag. This ensures that I always have appropriate clothes for every situation. I always carry a bikini and gym gear-you never know when you need to go for a run or soak up some sun. Also, I throw in two pairs of heels, and of course, a big bag of all my beauty stuff."

6. DEALING WITH UNWANTED ATTENTION FROM MEN

"The way I see it, if men find you attractive it's a good thing, but it's also their issue to deal with. If you're in a situation where someone approaches you and he's getting a little over friendly, don't get conscious. I tend to be pleasant and keep the conversation short, making sure they get the point without coming across as rude."

7. BEING A GOOD FLIRT

"So the key to good flirting is knowing and owning your sex appeal and also being subtle about it. Don't pounce on the guy or chug too many drinks-it's definitely not attractive. Giving him subtle hints and making eye contact shows that you are confident. Always smile and laugh from time to time, but save the loud guffaws for when you're with your girlfriends.

8. MAKE-UP IN UNDER A MINUTE

"I always carry concealer, pressed powder, blush and a lip balm in my bag. Swipe on the concealer under your eyes, and seal it in with the powder. Next, apply a little blush to the apples of your cheeks, and dab on the lip balm to nix any chapped lips or dryness!"

9. MAKING YOURSELF HEARD IN A SOCIAL CONVERSATION

"While it's important to speak up, it's equally important to only do so when you know enough about the

subject. Speaking through your hat could lead to embarrassing situations like the person asking you

more, or worse, pointing out your lack of information. Make strong and relevant points and don't be

afraid to express your opinion."

10. ROCKING A BIKINI WITHOUT GETTING SUPER CONSCIOUS

"I've never cared about what anyone thinks of my body, even though I'm in a profession where being in shape is an imperative. I wear anything I like and yes, having a toned body does help. But that doesn't mean you can't rock a swimsuit or a bikini even if you are curvy. What's crucial is choosing the right size of bikini-anything too tight will make you look bigger and anything too loose will work in the opposite way. If you're worried about your tummy, pick a different style of swimsuit-there's so many options these days! And a sarong always helps. But mostly, just accept and love yourself no matter what size you are."
