15 Getting Ready Hacks That Will Give You Longer In Bed

1. Hang tights with dresses

Instead of rooting around your lingerie drawer for your favourite pair of tights, hang 5 identical pairs with the dresses you wear to work the most when you wash them. It'll save precious minutes in the morning.

2. Hang outfits together

Same goes for if there are certain clothing combos you never wear apart - save some time by pairing them together on the hanger. This works for layering, be it a shirt under a pinafore, as well as full outfits that you only ever wear together.

3. Have one bag for the week, and one for the weekend

Select a working week bag that's neutral enough to go with whatever you decide to wear and use it every day. If you want to mix it up each week, switch everything to a new bag on a Sunday so you're not in a faff come Monday morning.

4. Pack your bag using compartment pouches

If you DO decide you want to swap your bags around, being able to just grab the 'essentials' pouch (money, travel pass, keys) will make switching so much easier.

5. Never put laddered tights or socks with holes in back in your drawers

Just throw them away. It's over. Accept it.

6. Buy clothes that are easily interchangeable

When shopping, stick to a certain colour palette and you'll be able to mix and match your separates SO much easier. You'll have way more outfit options and it'll save precious minutes, too.

7. Construct a work uniform

Finding a fashion formula that you feel most comfortable in (excluding your pjs, of course) will allow you to wear the same - but kinda different - clothes every. single. day. WIN. (All the celebs do it, promise.)

8. Avoid buying easily-creased clothes

It's simple - if you CBA to iron just as much as you CBA to get dressed, don't buy clothes that are high-maintenance. And DEFINITELY steer clear of anything 'dry clean only'. They might look pretty in the shop, but that's because they've got steamers on standby, remember?

9. Never hang something up that is dirty

Well, aside from the fact that it is seriously gross, there is literally NO point but to annoy yourself.

10. Separate the seasons

We know British weather is unpredictable, but it's pretty safe to say that during June-August you probably won't need that massive chunky knit taking up precious wardrobe space and confusing life. Store away your seasonal clothes as the weather changes, and it'll be so much easier to find the pieces you need.

11. Keep a tidy wardrobe

Ok, so if you CBA to get dressed, you're hardly going to want to spend time and energy putting your wardrobe in order, are you? But believe us, the whole finding clothes thing is SO much easier when you have a little structure in the closet department. Separate each item of clothing into sections and if you're feeling really adventurous, you can colour-code it, too. (Thank us later, yeah?)

12. Iron as you go

Sometimes a little bit of wardrobe maintenance can go a loooong way in saving you precious snooze time. Iron anything that needs it before you put it away and wearing your favourite shirt becomes as easy as just taking it off the hanger.

13. Moisturise in the shower

If you're anything like us then having to moisturise your whole body after getting out of the shower is a bit of an annoying beauty chore. Use a shower cream that moisturises too, so the minute you step out of the shower, you're good to go and don't have to wait for any stickiness to subside before putting on your jeans.

14. Use products that can multi-task

Cut precious minutes from your routine by using products that do more than one job. Who needs a serum, moisturiser, toner /and/ SPF? *mind boggles*. Picking a BB cream that hydrates, protects AND makes your complexion look dreamy, is an easy way to cut out some of the faff.

15. Check the weather forecast the night before

There's no point laying out your go-to shift dress if you wake to a lovely British rainstorm. That's just counter-productive. You may also decide against the poker straight down 'do if it's windy, so you can plan for a ponytail instead.
