Twinkle Khanna , also known as Mrs. Funnybones does not hold back or beat around the bush when it comes to talking about issues . Author of two hit books and a highly successful blog , Twinkle addressed the TVF molestation row in her recent column for Times of India , and let's just say she absolutely nailed it .
Referring to molesters at the workplace as 'loathsome frogs' and victims as ' little file-toting flies' Twinkle tries to shed light on the struggles women face at the workplace and how they are objectified for their gender.
Taking a stab at Arunabh Kumar of TVF and others accused of workplace molestation , she goes on to speak about the usage of words like 'sexy' at the workplace saying
"Sexy is acceptable compliment within a work environment only if she is a stripper and you are her pimp trying to boost her confidence before she takes the stage."
She also reveals that she has faced a similar situation of sexual harassment by a wealthy and influential client a few years ago ,inspite of being a celebrity wife. She talks about choosing to ignore the messages in the moment and ending up as one of the 38 percent women who face sexual harassment , further reflecting on how difficult it must be for women to deal with this kind of behaviour.
To the men who behave in this way in workplaces she offers this advice
"Respectfully ask her out for a drink , and if she refuses your polite offer then go and drown your sorrows in that very drink and leave her alone. Do not stalk her , touch her, send her lewd messages and emails." An absolutely amazing and spot on piece of advice .
Husband and actor Akshay Kumar reacted to Twinkle's article with this tweet.
We for one , applaud Mrs. Funnybones for her honestly and forthright take on this situation.
