Today in Horrible: People Are Photoshopping Rihanna to Make Her Skin Appear White

The internet can be a wonderful place, but it can also b a horrible, horrible place. In a disturbing new trend, some Twitter users are Photoshopping pictures of Rihanna to make her skin appear white. Even worse? The captions all claim she would be prettier if she were white. Umm...what?

There's so much wrong with this. Not only are there obvious racist implications, it's also ridiculous to imply that Rihanna, one of the most beautiful women alive, is anything less than gorgeous just the way she is.

The awful trend seems to trace back to July, but it's been going on for months.

Thankfully, most of Twitter isn't having it with the photo edits and people are posting pictures of stars like Jennifer Lawrence and Britney Spears with similar captions to highlight just how ridiculous the idea is.
