You Can Now Eat Your Nail Polish Instead of Biting Your Nails

You know that spicy pepper polish you can put on your nails to stop you from biting them? Two parents just created a nail polish that is the exact opposite. Mashable reports that you can now buy edible nail polish, which will either make you bite your nails more or just chip off the polish for the flavor.

Audrey Amara and Josh Kroot noticed their daughter really wanted to start painting her nails on her own. But they did some investigating into nail polish and found that the ingredients weren't safe for their little girl, who kept putting her polished fingers in her mouth.

So they invented Kid Licks, which is made from organic fruits, vegetables, and plants. It's specifically designed so little kids can paint their nails, but there's nothing stopping you from trying it yourself, especially if you tend to bite your nails or chipped polish. And it's perfect if you want to just have a quick manicure for the Instagram's sake: it can wash off with a thorough scrub of soap and water rather than harsh nail polish remover. If you want it to stay on longer, you can use a blow-dryer to make the polish harder.

Right now, the polish comes in three shades: barley grass green, beet red, and sour carrot orange. They're working on new polishes, which cost $13.99 through their website. Sure, it's pricey for a typical nail polish, but consider it a snack-manicure hybrid.
