Why do we get such a bad rap?

9 Ways Guys Are Actually Romantic AF

Sometimes guys get unfairly stereotyped as being callous and unfeeling; more interested in THE BIG SPORTS GAME and BEER DRINKING than being romantic. But that's not true. We might not have spent our adolescence scrapbooking our dream wedding or anything, but we like creating sweet moments together just as much as you do.

1. We like going out on dates, even if it's not something we'd choose to do on our own. No, we don't really want to go see Frozen or the latest rom-com, but we love making you happy and going out and also movie theater popcorn.

2. Snuggling, because EVERYONE LIKES SNUGGLING. Literally everyone who doesn't have haphephobia likes cuddling. Everyone. Part of "everyone" is "men."

3. We carry your purse for you when you're drunk and tired. Yeah, yeah, I know you can carry it yourself. But admit it: It's still pretty cute in a schoolboy kind of way.

4. We open doors for you like a bunch of suave motherfuckers. It's just polite regardless of who's walking in behind or ahead of you.

5. We love sneaking a little PDA in here and there. We might not want to call you pet names in public out of fear of embarrassment, but we like pulling you close while we're out shopping.

6. We want to defend your honor. Sure, it's not the same as ye olden time duels or anything, but we're still going to get in some asshole's face if he's being an asshole to you at the bar, as assholes are often wont to do.

7. We send cute texts because we're thinking about you. Guys never talk about the adorable texts they send their partners when they're hanging out, but they all do it. Even if it's just a bunch of love-themed emojis, they do it.

8. We surprise you with little gifts, like when you were on your period and we knew you were craving ice cream. Some would even say that's a better surprise than something expensive, especially if we drove to three different stores to find you rum raisin.

9. We make you breakfast in the morning (or maybe just wake you up with coffee). A mug of instant something might be the best you're going to get if we don't know how eggs work, but it's the thought that counts.
