Miss Germany Blasts Miss Universe Pageant, Says No One Voted for Miss Phillippines

If you thought the firestorm surrounding Sunday night's Miss Universe was dying down anytime soon, you are dearly mistaken. One of the contestants is speaking out, telling a reporter she's not happy with who ended up with the crown.

On Sunday night, Miss Universe host Steve Harvey made a tragic error and accidentally announced the wrong woman's name as Miss Universe. In case you missed one of the biggest WTF moments in television history, Harvey announced the first runner-up, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner. Gutierrez was quickly stripped of the crown, which was then presented to the real winner, Miss Phillippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, all while millions of people watched breathlessly at home.

In a new interview with Missology about that moment, Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek slammed the pageant and its winner, Wurtzbach.

Riek didn't hold back her feelings about Wurtzbach taking home the title.  "I really couldn't believe it, I was so upset," Riek said in the interview with Missology posted to their Facebook page. "For me Miss France as the real winner. I was very happy for Miss Colombia because she really deserved it. I'm really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I'm sorry to say that."

When asked for details about why she and the other girls offered condolences to Gutierrez  and didn't step in to congratulate Wurtzbach after the error was corrected, Riek dropped a major bomb.

"Because not one of us voted for [Miss] Philippines," she added. "I'm so sorry to say it."

Wow. That's got to sting. Well, at least we know how she really feels. Riek then declined to elaborate further after hinting at fellow pageant participants' animosity about who won.

Ever since Sunday night, conspiracy theorists have had a field day speculating what was really behind Harvey's gaffe, and Riek's comments are probably going to fuel a lot of those fires.

Meanwhile, Miss Australia Monika Radulovic also shared what it was like to be on stage during the Moment No One Will Ever Forget, telling 7 News she and other women on the stage saw a teleprompter which read "Philippines take your first walk as Miss Universe" after Harvey had announced Miss Colombia as the winner.
