This Virtual Reality Headset Allows You to Experience What It's Really Like to Be Another Gender

​In an effort to help people truly understand gender identity, BeAnotherLab created a virtual reality headset that allows two people wearing the machines to swap genders.

The Creators Project explains when the people in the experiment synchronize their movements, they are able to see the world around them and their bodies from the point of view of the other person. Through the headset, they see the other person's body as if it were their own.

The headsets actually first showed at Les Arcs European Film Festival two years ago but are receiving attention now because the creators and MIT are looking to use the equipment for further research on gender identity, body perception, and rehabilitation, DesignTaxi reports.
