15 Signs Your WhatsApp Addiction is Out of Control

This week Jennifer Lawrence told a journalist at the Golden Globes 'you can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro.' She has obviously never been in a group WhatsApp thread. Think your obsession might be getting out of hand? See how many of these you can relate to...

1. You moan a lot about your group WhatsApp groups, but constantly create new ones. Holiday planning? 'I'll make a WhatsApp group.' Dinner plans? 'I'll make a WhatsApp group.' Debrief on the latest episode of Gogglebox? 'I'll make a WhatsApp group.'

2. You sometimes just stare at an opened WhatsApp group waiting for messages to come in. 'It's been a whole 15 minutes how has no one messaged me yet?'

3. You have serious storage problems on your phone because you and your friends share so many pictures on WhatsApp.

4. During the cinema you sometimes pop to the loo just to check in on your WhatsApp. The dialogue on your group WhatsApp thread requires as much attention as any movie.

5. You have been known to WhatsApp people in the same house as you. Even the same room.

6. You have been a victim of data roaming charges. Oops.

7. Long battery life. What's that?

8. You know it's creepy, but you sometimes look to see if your ex is online. WHO IS HE MESSAGING?

9. You have had at least one argument involving the blue ticks. They normally start with lines like 'I can see you've read it.' 'Have I done something?'

10. Your family often threaten to grab your phone off you. You know you're a phone zombie, but also don't care.

11. You have had at least one WhatsApp related injury. Mainly walking into lamp posts.

12. Your biggest fear is group messaging tumbleweed. Guys? Err, guys?

13. You get irrationally angry about people who take over a day to reply. What are they so busy doing?

14. When someone tells you your major news you pretend to act surprised. Chances are your "sources" have already told you everything on your group chat.

15. Your 'last seen' is rarely over half an hour ago. If it's been over three hours your friends and family get slightly concerned.
