These bagels and fried chicken photos are not what they seem...

The Internet Is Asking the Tough Questions: Puppies or Food?

The Internet is doing that thing again where it finds the most random things on the planet, pairs them together, and just makes them work. This time, it's puppies and bagels. Twitter user Karen Zack (@teenybiscuit) started the conversation with this tweet.

Is it a puppy? Is it a bagel? Who cares?! Either way this is weirdly adorable.

I've always been fascinated by the way puppies can contort into little doughnuts (because I obviously love anything that even slightly resembles doughnuts), but this is an uncanny comparison that not even  my food-obsessed brain had ever thought of before.

Just look at how similar they look. Bagels are obviously the perfect food incarnation of dogs because they're just as varied as our furry friends. Sesame, plain, cinnamon — there's a bagel to match every dog. Everything bagels aren't represented in this comparison, but I'm sure I could find a pup with a garlic-sesame-poppy seed-esque coat.

Bagels aren't exactly the cutest food but these puppies are really working for them. Let's be honest, this is pretty amazing because carbs. And puppies. It's all the best things.

I hope people won't get carried away and try to make a rainbow bagel/ puppy thing happen (please don't dye your dog). But I'm really feeling these food and animal gems. So bring it on, Internet.

Update 3/8, 4:26 p.m.: Looks like Karen Zack is bringing it. It seems that this animal/food madness is not stopping at just bagels and puppies; now the Internet is comparing Labradoodles and fried chicken

I have to say, this one looks a little less adorable and a lot more mouthwatering (which is weird AF).

Oh, but there's more; no animal is safe from these odd little comparisons. Behold, duckling or plantains:

Yeah, this one is really out of the box but it seems appropriate, you know, for Easter.

I'm still not sure exactly how I feel about this whole animal vs. food thing, but I'm curious to see what other crazy combos will go viral next.
