10 Ways To Use Your Concealer

1. Conceal your dark under eye area.

This is probably the most basic of them all! Draw an inverted triangle on the area and blend it out with your clean finger, a brush, or a damp sponge. If your under-eye area is really dark however, you might want to use a color-correcting concealer in a peach shade. Blend out the colored concealer to eliminate dullness and then layer on a brightening concealer to even out your skin tone.

2. Use at as an eye shadow base.

No primer? Use concealer instead. It will even out your eyelid's skin tone and cancel out any discoloration. That said, your eye shadows will come out more vivid. Plus, it will prevent your shadows from slipping, smudging, or creasing.

3. Boost your lip color.

Want to get the true color of your lipstick? Prime your lips with a bit of concealer first. This will get rid of your lip's natural color and undertone, so your lippie's color will really pop.

4. Brighten your tired eyes.

Aside from using it on your under-eye area, you can also pat on some concealer on your eye's inner corners. This will brighten up your peepers and make you look more awake and refreshed.

5. Tame and perfect your brows.

If you don't have brow mascara or brow gel on hand, use a bit of your cream concealer and use a spoolie to brush it through your brows—it's a good temporary fix! You can also try this trick if your brow pencil is too dark.

6. Clean and soften hard edges.

Sharpen your winged liner and perfect your eye shadow by using some concealer to clean out the edges. Use a pointed cotton bud to apply and blend it out for precision.

7. Highlight your face.

Take a concealer that's one shade lighter than your natural skin tone and apply it on your face's high points. Blend it out properly, and you'll notice that the center of your face will look brighter, creating a very soft natural contour.

8. Contour, natch!

This is a beauty trick many beauty gurus swear by! Instead of using contouring and sculpting creams, you can use a dark liquid or cream concealer to ace your makeup application.

9. Plump up your lips.

The next time you wear a bold lip color, clean the edges with concealer to create the perfect plump pout.

10. By itself.

If you don't have a lot of problem areas on your skin, you can get away with skipping foundation and just going straight for concealer. Spot-correct your blemishes, brighten your skin, and you're good to go.
