Melissa McCarthy does not delight in talking about her weight, because, well, she's a human being. But when the subject comes up, she always has the perfect response.

When asked recently about her slimmer size, the 45-year-old star of The Boss came clean about her reported 50 pound loss.

Her secret? A "super boring life."

"You bring it real down, you don't do anything fun and you go to bed at 7:30 — that's the trick," she told Extra.

That's pretty much in line with the other advice she's offered up. In June 2015, she told People that the moment she stopped caring so much,​ she started to see a difference in her body.

"I stopped over-analyzing, over-thinking, over-doing anything. I kinda went back to when I was pregnant and I just stopped constantly being worried about it and I think there's something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked."

Now that McCarthy has perfected being a great writer, mother, and actress who makes us LOL so hard we have accidents, she's busy owning the fashion biz. The clothing designer is focusing on what the industry refers to as "plus-size" garments.

"A good portion of women in America are size 14 and higher. I just try to make clothing that'll make all women feel really good," she told Redbook​. "When I feel good about my clothes, I'm more patient with my kids. I don't beep at the guy in his car texting in front of me. I look at the world a little differently. The small happy moments add up. A little bit of joy goes a long way."​
