Based out of Norway, the Croatian tattoo artist and art teacher began using salt as a medium after he realized he needed to give his wrist a break from drawing. As he explained to Buzzfeedusing salt helped him relax his wrist because it only required pressure on his shoulder, since it only requires a paper cone or a bottle for him to spill the salt on the canvas.

The result is an array of gorgeous, intricate mandalas and portraits that will completely sooth your soul, followed by the weirdly satisfying pleasure of watching Tomic destroy them. Check out a few of his best works below, and more over at his Instagram.
