I kid you not.

France is Opening a Wine Theme Park!

If you're still umm-ing and ahh-ing over where to go on holiday this year, here's something that will make you want to jump on the next ferry to France. In June, a wine theme park called la Cité du Vin is opening in Bordeaux, and it's being described as something of a wine theme park. No, really.

Before you envision a log flume ride that splashes you in rosé or sauvignon blanc, the rides at la Cité du Vin are more educational, less Duff Gardens in The Simpsons. One of the rides is a simulated boat tour, which takes you on a merchant's galley around the world, while wine-tasting sessions are also available.

There are also 20 themed areas for visitors to explore, stories of drunkenness to listen to, and the chance to sip a huge selection of wine while looking out across Bordeaux from a height of 35m.

And it wouldn't be a theme park without a centrepiece. Instead of a castle a la Disneyland, la Cité du Vin boasts a 10-story structure that's shaped to "evoke wine's soul and liquid nature", according to the website.

The park opens its doors June 1st, and tickets cost just £15. So, who else is planning a trip to la Cité du Vin in Bordeaux this summer?
