We're all for trying weird and wonderful food concoctions, but this new melon and cheese-flavoured Kit Kat bar might be taking it a little too far in the flavour department. Would you be keen to try melon and cheese chocolate? We're not sure even Willy Wonka would approve of this bonkers chocolate blend.
The four-fingered chocolate snack flavoured with fruity melon and Mascarponecheese is —unsurprisingly ― being launched at airports across Japan. If the chocolate flavour proves a success, it could very well make its way over the UK.
The 'Hokkaido Melon with Mascarpone Cheese' chocolate-coated wafer biscuit bar – it's official title – is being rolled out alongside a few other unusual, albeit slightly more appealing, Kit Kat flavours including 'Japanese Strawberry' and 'Uji Matcha', a type of Japanese tea.
The bar is made combining melon extract together with Mascarpone powder which is sandwiched between the crunchy wafer biscuits and then drizzled in white chocolate. Not doing it for us – any takers?
So far there's been an onslaught of negative Twitter responses about the new chocolate bar – with many 'ewwww', 'gross' and 'just no!' remarks. Would you be daring enough to try it?
What's wrong with the original flavour? We'll be sticking with the classic milk chocolate crunch thank you very much.
