This Heart-Shaped Braid is Hair Goals

If you're guilty of not switching up your hairstyle often enough and find yourself in a #HairRut, here's a gorgeous braid tutorial that will hopefully break you out of it – and leave you with a Pinterest-worthy style as a bonus! (PS: You might want to invite your BFF over to help you with this braid because is a two-person job.)

1. Starting at the right side of your head above your ear, grab a 1-inch section of hair, twist it, and pin it back at your crown.

2.  Moving toward the middle, and eventually ending up at the left side of your head, repeat the above step three more times. Make sure to pin all of the twisted hair together.

3. Grab the ponytail that was created out of the twisted pieces and pin it up.

4. Take a section of hair below, about an inch and a half thick, and put that into a ponytail. Secure it with an elastic band and make sure there is a little slack in it so it isn't tight to your head.

5. Let the ponytail you have pinned up down, and separate it into two tails, and then take the ponytail that was underneath it and pin it up with the clip (the two separated ponytails will be sandwiching the other ponytail at this point).

6. Reach for another hair tie and put the two sections of hair into one ponytail. Secure with a rubber band.

7. "Pancake" or gently tug on the slack of that ponytail, to make it into a heart shape (this also gives the "braid" texture and makes it look thicker).

8. Let the ponytail you have clipped up down, separate it into two and repeat the process until you reach your ends.
