8 Tech Hacks That'll Make Your Life SO MUCH Easier

Want to up your tech game? Try these tricks and tips.

#1. Mute Someone on Twitter

Your timeline won't be bombarded by any of their Tweets or Retweets, and you'll never have to worry about them knowing you've unfollowed them.

DO IT: Go to your settings while on their profile and select the mute option.

#2. Use Emojis On Your Computer

Mac and Windows users can access emojis in any open text field.DO IT: Windows (version 7 or newer) users, go to the task bar > tool bar > touch keyboard and choose the smiley face key. Mac (OSX version 10.8 or later) users, press CTRL, CMD and space bar at the same time—and the emoji panel will appear!

#3. Get Discount Vouchers For Your Goodies

Make online shopping even more enjoyable by checking for discount vouchers before clicking 'checkout'.

DO IT: Look for promo codes on mydala.com.

#4. Disable Game Notifications on Facebook

One more Candy Crush invitation is going to be the death of you? Cut out those notifications.

DO IT: On Android, go to Facebook settings > 'app settings' > 'notifications' option > disable 'app notifications'. On iPhone, go to Facebook settings > select 'account settings' > 'notifications' > 'mobile' > uncheck 'application requests' and 'application notifications'. (If we had known sooner, it would have prevented hours of Facebook unfriending...)

#5. Navigate YouTube Using Your Keyboard

This little tip is a time-saver of note.

DO IT: Use the 1 to 9 keys on your keyboard to skip from 10% to 90% of the way through the video. Give it a bash if you're eager to go straight to the chorus of your current favourite song. Plus, hit the L to jump ahead 10 seconds, hit J key to rewind 10 seconds and K key to pause.

#6. Use Headphones to Take a Selfie On Your iPhone

No more stretching two arms forward to take a pic.

DO IT: Plug in your earphones, open the camera app and click volume + button. Easy peasy!

Preserve Your Cellphone Battery

#7. Turn Off Haptic Feedback

Turn off any noise or vibration your phone produces when you're pressing buttons. Besides, that noise can be incredibly annoying!

#8. Keep Your Phone cool

We don't mean you should buy a pretty, glitter-doused cover; we mean literally keep your phone cool. Too much heat decreases battery capacity. So take that poolside selfie, then pop your phone into the darkness of your tote.
