One incredible artist, Chan Clayrene who is based in Singapore, is ripping up the rule book and creating beautifully intricate fashion sketches – out of nail varnish. And we are obsessed.

Chan's Instagram account (@Artclaytion) is full of dreamy drawings of princess style dresses and couture pieces, made using a combination of watercolour paints and nail polish (or just straight up nail varnish), and our personal faves – magical mermaids. I mean seriously, how amazing do these illustrations look?! Our art A-level final project is looking spectacularly lame right about now (Mine was a screen print of Amy Winehouse looking massively boss-eyed and is now hidden in the attic, FYI. Tragic.).

This uber-talented lady told Bored Panda that she's living her dream by posting her art on social media and that nail polish is one of her favourite cosmetics: "I love them because of its glossy shine effect… After exploring the possibilities of nail polish on my own nails or paper, I now draw my illustrations on water too! The process of drawing on water is very challenging but exciting, I could ruin my artwork anytime with a wrong stroke!" It's such a cool idea.

This is #ArtGoals to the absolute max. We're off to try and make some magic happen with a mascara and some poster paints... Watch this space (or not).
