COSMO EXCLUSIVE: 3 Successful Women Show You Their Uber Cool Workspace

Three fabulous women let us into the cool, creative spaces they call office, so we can see where the magic happens—and steal some of that fairydust ourselves!

 Shubhra Chadda,Co-Founder, Chumbak

"When my husband Vivek Prabhakar and I built this office, we wanted to create an open space with a whole lot of natural light coming in, and lots of peppy colours on the walls. Since I spend a large part of the day looking at samples, reviewing designs and doing quality assessments, there's a whole lot of raw material and final products always lying on my desk for approval. My favourite thing about my workspace is my memorabilia board, where I've collected all my daughter's artwork, and pictures of her— and, of course, that I sit next to my husband and am able to work with him every day! Plus, you know, my office is full of cute, Chumbak things. It's a fun, kitschy place to work!"

Madhuvanthi Mohan, Illustrator and Founder, Something Sketchy

"On the walls, you'll find art by my illustrator-artist friends, and my shelves are racked with art books, magazines and graphic novels, and peppered with interesting, colourful maps, postcards—plus other things I've picked up along the course of my travels. Playing music and having people around while I work generally makes me happy—so there's always a song playing, and people milling around. The space is overall really colourful and busy—just like I am, I suppose. My favourite thing at work is my Tobias Funke screen printed poster by Doe Eyed Design. I think the best way you can do-up your workspace is by surrounding yourself with things you like."

Pearl Shah, Head of Communication and Content, Jabong, and Editor, The Juice

"My office is an open plan one (because my team and I communicate constantly!) and since we work with a lot of clothes and accessories, we have a really pretty boudoir- style wardrobe where our stylists create looks or we host previews to showcase new lines. We're also located in a quaint, Bandra bylane, so our view is swaying palm trees—pretty inspiring! The space is filled with artwork by cool, indie illustrators like Jasjyot Singh Hans, Scott Fletcher, and Rahul Chacko. Also, we've thrown in some quirky collages and graphics on the windows, with quotes like 'Believe In Your Selfie' and ' The Juice is Worth the Squeeze'. The pantry is cafe-style, with a coffee machine and every kind of green tea imaginable—with games like Taboo or Psych sitting there, for when we need a breather. My favourite thing is the antique conference- room table that we found in the chor bazaar in Oshiwara. In my opinion, ample natural light and an endless supply of good coffee can turn any workspace around in a jiff."
