#1. INITIATE CONVERSATION
Confidence is sexy, so don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with your matches. "Messaging game is key on Tinder," says Rosette Pambakian, VP, Tinder. "This is when you can gauge how compatible you two are before deciding to meet for that first date." But for the love of Tinds, avoid the stock standard, snooze-worthy 'Hi' or 'Hello'.
#2. ASK QUESTIONS
As long as it's not 'How are you?' because the reply will almost always be 'I'm good, you?' Yawn. 'Take time to ask him questions about himself using details from his profile to show that you studied up," says Pambakian. Or ask something specific and funny. 'How do you feel about mixing bacon and ice-cream?' will work a treat.
#3. KEEP SOME MYSTERY ALIVE
We're all for giving your match insight into your life and who you are, but do they really need to know your dating history? No. That convo can happen later.
#4. COMPLIMENT THEM
Not, 'I could grate cheese on your abs'. Focus on features aside from your match's body. 'Wow, you've travelled to so many great places' is a good start.
#5. BE A TEASE
Lightly poking fun at someone once you get to know them a little is always a winner. Just make sure they know you're joking. "Weave in some GIFs to show off your wit," says Pambakian.
#6. GRAMMAR, PEOPLE
Dnt rly need 2 explain dis, do we?
#7. BE YOURSELF
Don't pretend to enjoy camping if you're more a five-star luxe lady. You'll only end up disappointed. And stuck in a tent without wi-fi!
