5 Reasons You HAVE to Read Karan Johar's New Book

All of Bollywood is abuzz about KJo's new autobiography, and you might be wondering whether or not you should be reading it: is it worth your time, or is going to be total trash?

Here's five reasons we think this book is worth your time:

1) It talks about his childhood:

It's the first time the man has ever opened up about growing in a film star riddled universe, and it's interesting to see his perspective on that kind of lifestyle.

2) It'll give you clarity on the whole Kareena Kapoor Khan fight:

It was just about money. As it often is. Karan wrote: "I offered her Kal Ho Naa Ho, and she asked for the same money that Shah Rukh Khan was getting. I said, 'Sorry'. I was very hurt. I told my father, 'Leave that negotiation room' and I called her. She didn't take my call, and I said, 'We're not taking her.'" He added, "Kareena and I didn't speak to each other for almost a year. For a year, we looked through each other at parties. It was very idiotic."

3) It talks about his sexuality:

He may never pop out and say anything to confirm or deny, but he definitely talks about the hellfire he's walked through because of it.

4) The deets of his friendship with SRK

You know you've always wanted to belong to that elite little club—now you vicariously can! At one point he even says "Shah Rukh is a very possessive friend. I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, I felt he didn't give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reason." We'd wanted to know more, fo sho!

5) His self-deprecation suddenly makes him the most relatable person in the world

Your heart will go out to him when you hear him bare his soul about his haters, the homophobia he's dealt with, and how he makes jokes about himself because he has to.
