Student Drags a Man To The Police Station By His Hair After He Gropes Her In Public

In today's everyday bad-assery, the Metro reported that a 20-year-old student successfully managed to drag a grown man to the police station by his hair, after he attempted to grope her without her consent.

Pradnya Mandhare was on her way home from lectures in her home city of Mumbai when, at a train station, a drunk man began to grope her. It was 2.30pm, in broad daylight, with plenty of people around. No-one stepped in to do anything. *Sigh*.

Pradnya tried to get away, but he continued to grab at her. So she smacked him with her bag. "He tried to hit me back and he really stunk of alcohol," says Pradnya, "but I was determined not to let him get away with it."

She then grabbed him by his hair and dragged him all the way to the police station, refusing to let him go until she had handed him over to the police. "He was telling me to let go and that he would come with me voluntarily," she says, "but I didn't trust him and continued to pull him along. I finally managed to hand him over to the police without getting any help from anyone."

Police arrested the man, a 25-year-old drug addict named Chavan Chowdee, who's now in custody awaiting charges.

"I don't see myself as a heroine," says Pradnya, "but I also think we should make a stand and let men know they can't just do what they want."
