Miranda Lambert Broke Down in Tears on Stage Just Two Days Before Divorce Announcement

Why does love have to die? I don't know and frankly I'm already tired of 2015, Year of the Depressing Celebrity Split. The world just found out about the devastating breakup of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, country music's most Instagramable couple. But today, there's an even more heartbreaking layer to the story.

People reports that a few days before their divorce was announced, Miranda was onstage for a performance at the Cheyenne Frontier Days concert in Wyoming. She tried to sing "The House That Built Me," a song  that was originally written for Blake, who gave it to Miranda to record when they were first engaged. "I took one look at her and just said, 'If you have this strong of a reaction to a song, you need to record it!'" he said in 2011, explaining why he gave the song to Miranda. It became one of her biggest hits.

On Saturday, before the world would find out that she and her husband of four years were breaking up, Miranda tried to sing the song. But she was quickly overcome with emotions, and asked fans to help her sing it.

"The last thing someone wants to do is cry in front of 19,000 people," she told concertgoers. "I bet you know the song, so y'all sing it for me...It starts with 'Mama cut out pictures,' can you do that for me?"

Can we please just wake up from this nightmare where they aren't a couple anymore and go back to when love was still alive?
